COMPONENT ROLE EXPLAINED
The expansion tank is an important engine cooling product. It secures a constant flow of coolant by absorbing excess water pressure caused by thermal expansion and redistributing the coolant back in to the system when the pressure drops.
To help avoid and prevent premature failures, your expansion tank should be checked annually.
EASY INSTALLATION
Nissens' expansion tanks are part of our 'First Fit' program, which means that they come with sensors and caps, pre-mounted or included with the product. This ensures a quick and smooth installation.
EXPANSION TANK BASIC FUNCTIONS
- Part of the Engine Cooling system.
- The expansion tank absorbs excess coolant and minimizes excess pressure in the engine cooling system.
- An expansion tank helps maintain minimal pressure increase during heated water expansion, helps reduce coolant hammer, and helps protect the engine cooling system from stress. Furthermore, the expansion tank ensures that there is no waste by re-distributing excess coolant into the system.
